How we work it out

  • Litres per hectare: fuel used ÷ area worked. Per acre = L/ha × 0.405.
  • Per hour and work rate: fuel used ÷ engine hours, and area ÷ engine hours.
  • Next job: L/ha × area to do; tank fills = litres ÷ tank size; cost = litres × your price.
