Harvest & truck loads calculator

How many trucks will the paddock fill? Turn your area and yield into tonnes, truck loads and bin loads - and see how often a truck needs to leave the paddock.

The paddock or the whole crop. 1 acre = 0.405 ha.

Your own estimate or last year’s figure. 1 t/ha ≈ 0.4 t/acre.

How we work it out

  • Tonnes: hectares × tonnes a hectare. So 50 ha at 3 t/ha is 150 t.
  • Truck loads: tonnes ÷ payload, rounded up. 150 t in 28 t trucks is 5 full loads and a sixth of 10 t.
  • Time and trucks: hectares ÷ your ha an hour; your ha an hour × t/ha shows the tonnes coming off, and how often a truck fills.

Yield is never certain until it’s in the bin - check your own yield monitor or weighbridge tickets as you go. Load limits depend on your truck, permits and roads, so stay within your legal payload. This is arithmetic on your own numbers, not advice, a grain price or a yield estimate. Nothing you type is stored or sent anywhere.
