How we work it out

  • Hectares an hour: width (m) × speed (km/h) ÷ 10. So a 12 m boom at 10 km/h covers 12 ha an hour with no stops.
  • Field efficiency: your own % of the time actually working - turns, overlap, filling and stops take the rest. 80% turns 12 ha/h into 9.6 ha/h.
  • Hours and days: area ÷ hectares an hour, then divided by the hours you work a day. Fuel and cost are your own figures × those hours.

Real work rates change with the paddock shape, ground, weather and how far you travel to fill up - use your own records when you have them. This is arithmetic on your own numbers, not a machine figure, a contract rate or advice. Nothing you type is stored or sent anywhere.
